From June 11 to June 19th, Terry, Chris, and I joined the high school Spanish teachers, 6 other great students and our friends John and Julie Vogl to tour Mexico. We LOVED it. We loved the Pyramids and other ruins, the history, the WARM beaches, the friendly people and our lovely tour guide Maria. We got a bit sick to our stomach and it felt like a hundred degrees hotter than home because of the humidity. We learned a greater appreciation for the USA. It was a great trip.

My favorite City Campeche

San Juan de Ulua Fot and prison. The rooms here are so old they have stalagtites growing from the ceiling. The prison rooms here would make Alcatraz seem like a vacation spot.

We visited Cenote Xkeken, a natural well deep inside a subterranean cave where we went swimming with the bats and fishes.

Through our visit to Mexico we climbed over a thousand steps to get the top of pyramids in Teotihuacan, Uxmal and Palenque and visited Mayan ruins and pyramids in Chichen Itza and Tulum. Between Terry, Chris and I we took over a thousand photos too.The ruins almost all had religious temples and some kind of "tree of life" symbol. They were all fascinating, surrounded by beautiful scenery and fun walks with interesting tour guides.
