Hooray!!! We are home from Mexico back to the good old USA. I really loved Mexico but I am so very glad to be home. Hooray for the USA!!!! We saw some cool places!! So here is a little synopsis of our trip. ...

We started in Mexico City where we visited museums, ruins, Palaces, Cathedrals, busy parks and a Mexican wrestling event.

As we left Mexico City we got to stop at the Mexico City Mormon temple. We drove for such a long long time just to get out of the city. We saw a LOT of poor poor housing. That was sad but still very interesting. We swam in the Gulf of Mexico ocean by Veracruz where the water was as warm as a bath tub. It felt so weird. I'm used to Oregon cold ocean water. The weather along the coast was crazy crazy HOT and even more HUMID so that every time we left air conditioning our clothes felt as soaked as if we had been in a rain storm. One time I bent over and I could see drips of sweat drip roll off my face onto the floor showing up like rain drops. We climbed up a lot of pyramids. There were some Pyramids on deserts, in jungles, on a beautiful beach, and buried under hills. They each had different stories. The ones near Mexico City were Aztec and the ones near the beaches were Mayan. The carvings were cool and they all had some very interesting mathematical features that made the buildings calendars with the way the sun went through parts of the building on the winter and summer solstice. We didn't get to climb the ruins where there were lots of tourists I'm glad we got to climb some of them. We liked the iguanas that ran all around the grounds and the pry amids themselves.

Every stop had tons of people trying to get us to buy Mexican trinkets. One girl was looking so pitiful selling little home made bracelets and when I asked her how much they would cost she took out her cell phone to write down the ammount. I thought that was funny. The girls were poor enought to have to be out on the streets working but could still have a cell phone. They really were in the streets, they would walk between the cars that barely fit on the roads. The crazy driving made all the Americans a bit nervous.

One of the coolest things we did was to swim in an underground cave like pool. I felt like we were in some kind of Indiana Jones movie swimming with fishes and bats around the stalagmites. Well the bats didn't swim but they hung and flew over our heads.

The Carribean beaches around CanCun were not bath tub warm like the Gulf of Mexico beach near Veracruz but closer to just right like a warmed swimming pool.

The bad thing was that we all got sick from the water or food or something. The other kind of bad thing was the military police running around everywhere carrying their m16 guns. They even ran on the beaches. All in all,I felt so so happy to be safely back in the states!!!!!!!! It was a cool trip but I really wanted to get home.
